Languages in Spun
Spun has two kinds of languages: the interface language your screens are written in, and the content languages you use with your contacts. This page covers both.
Interface languages
The Spun interface is available in 23 languages:
| English | Hebrew | Hebrew (Religious) |
| Spanish | French | Arabic |
| Russian | German | Portuguese |
| Italian | Dutch | Polish |
| Romanian | Ukrainian | Turkish |
| Chinese | Japanese | Korean |
| Swedish | Danish | Thai |
| Vietnamese | Indonesian | Yiddish |
"Hebrew (Religious)" is Hebrew with religious wording, not a separate language. Hebrew, Arabic and Yiddish run right-to-left, and the whole layout flips to match.
The language menus for the interface list only these languages, because a language is offered there only once the interface is translated into it.
Changing your language
- Open Settings → General.
- Choose your language in the language menu (globe icon) at the top of the page.
- The inbox switches right away.
Your choice is saved to your account, not to the browser, so you see the same language on every computer and phone you sign in on.
When you sign up, the language you pick on the sign-up page becomes your interface language. If you never pick one, Spun uses the language of the Spun site you signed up on.
What follows you, and what follows the organization
Personal (each teammate chooses their own):
- The interface language.
- The names of the labels and pipeline stages Spun creates for you (see below).
- The language of the emails Spun sends you.
Changing your language never changes it for your teammates.
Organization (one setting for everyone):
- The organization's default language, first set from the language of the person who created the organization. A manager can change it in Settings → General → Default contact language.
- Spun falls back to it when there is no personal choice: as the language of contacts that have none of their own, for emails to a teammate who has not chosen a language yet, and for messages to the organization as a whole.
- A new line you add starts with the business's default language.
Content languages
Features that work with your contacts' messages support many more languages than the interface, over 100. Translating chats and messages, AI compose, sending in a contact's language, setting a contact's language and Translate Labels all offer the longer list. Choosing one of these for a chat or a contact does not change your interface. See the Translation Setup Guide.
Label names in your language
- Built-in labels (the default Sales pipeline stages, the preset boards such as Support, Purchasing and Hiring, Do not send, the Tasks statuses and the other labels Spun creates) already have names in every interface language. Each teammate sees them in their own language.
- Your own labels show the name you typed until they have a translation. Add one by hand when you edit the label, or let a manager press Translate Labels in the Labels Manager, tick the languages you want, and have AI fill in the names of all your labels in those languages at once.
- Renaming a label clears its translations, so the new name never shows next to an outdated one. Translate it again after renaming.
- A language with no translation shows the label's own name.
