How do I turn website visitors into direct booking enquiries on WhatsApp?
Spun Lead Games puts a prize wheel on your website or behind a link you share. By default each entrant sends your business a WhatsApp message before spinning, so every lead lands in your inbox as a real conversation. It is for hotels, hosts and travel agencies that want more enquiries to come to them directly. It runs on a flat monthly plan with team members free and a free trial, on your normal WhatsApp number with no Business API. You choose the prizes, such as a free breakfast or a late check-out, and you honour them yourself.
Who this is for: a hotel or agency manager who wants website visitors to start a WhatsApp conversation instead of leaving for a booking site.
Before you start
- You need to be an organisation manager. Other team members see a note that managers run this screen.
- Decide your prizes and how often each should win. Pick prizes you can honour on any date the campaign runs.
Step 1: Create the campaign
- Open Spun Tools → Grow → Lead Games.
- On the Campaigns tab, click New campaign.
- Enter the name and the page address, for example "summer-breakfast".
- Keep Require WhatsApp before spinning on. It is on by default: every entrant messages your business first, which opens a WhatsApp conversation for follow-up. It may mean fewer completed entries than a form with no WhatsApp step.
- Pick the WhatsApp number that receives the entries.
- Click Create campaign and continue.
Step 2: Add prizes and publish
- Add each prize with a weight. The live odds beside each weight show how often it wins.
- Optionally write a message for each prize under Winner messages (optional), then click Save prizes.
- Optionally set start and end times, a maximum number of entries and a daily entry limit.
- Click Publish, choose the fields entrants must fill in, and publish.
Step 3: Put the wheel on your website
- In the campaign, open the section Put the wheel on your website.
- Under Your business web address, set the address the wheel's page runs on.
- Add the website where the wheel will appear. Until you add your website, the code does not show the wheel on any site.
- Choose Inside the page or Floating button, then Copy the code and paste it into your website, or send the copied code to whoever runs your site.
You can also share the campaign's own page link in a QR code at reception, on a printed card in the room, or in your email signature.
Step 4: Follow up and redeem
- On the Leads tab, filter by campaign and approve or reject entries.
- Reply in each entrant's WhatsApp conversation. The Lead Games card in the chat's side panel shows what they won.
- When a guest uses the prize, click Redeem. Use Void or Reopen if you need to correct it.
- Label winners, for example "Wheel - summer", or set a pipeline stage so the team sees which enquiries turned into bookings.
What to expect
- With the WhatsApp step on, each entry starts a normal conversation from your number, so your team answers it like any other enquiry.
- Entrants' contact details stay hidden in the Leads list until a manager uses Reveal contact details, and each reveal is recorded.
- On free and trial plans the wheel shows a "Powered by Spun" badge. Paid plans hide it. See Pricing.
Limits
- Managers only. Only organisation managers can create, publish or manage campaigns.
- You honour the prizes. Spun records wins and redemptions; it does not issue vouchers in your booking system.
- Following up in bulk. If you later send a promotion to entrants, use Campaigns with pacing and an opt-out line, and message only people who agreed to hear from you.
What Spun does not do
- It is not a booking engine and does not take reservations or check availability.
- It does not connect to your PMS, so a redeemed prize does not change a reservation.
- It does not collect payments or deposits through the wheel or in WhatsApp.
- It does not use WhatsApp Business API templates. Follow-up messages go from your normal number.
