Guided onboarding for new users, combining a milestone checklist that tracks key setup steps (connecting WhatsApp, importing contacts, creating labels, inviting team members) with an interactive spotlight tour that walks through the live inbox interface (composer, AI features, menus, and panels) step by step. While a new account is still on the web setup steps (the QR scan, or the Self Proxy install for accounts that choose it), a "While you set up, spin to win" card can appear beside the QR code or the install instructions: one prepared WhatsApp message, sent from your own WhatsApp number to Spun, unlocks a prize wheel and at the same time opens a support chat with Spun, so if the install gets stuck you can just write there. The wheel shows its prizes from the start, with a "Win:" line listing them and a note that you can run a wheel like this for your own customers, but it stays still until you choose. Beside the QR code the card appears as a "Your welcome spin" panel, and on a phone it also appears on the step that stands in for the QR. If you saved the spin for later and then connect WhatsApp, the "Connected!" screen reminds you with "Haven't spun yet? Your welcome spin is waiting." and a "Spin now" button that opens the wheel in the same card. To spin, tick the consent box (Spun may contact you on WhatsApp about your setup, support and account; reply STOP at any time to opt out of non-essential messages; it is needed to spin, not to connect WhatsApp) and press "Spin the wheel", which prepares the WhatsApp message; the wheel unlocks once that message actually arrives, and on the card "I sent it, check now" re-checks. "Spin later" records no consent and starts nothing: the spin stays saved for 14 days after signup, the card shows "Saved until" with the date, and "Your saved spin" in the menu (the Tools button carries a dot) brings it back. After that date a spin that was never started is no longer offered. Until the message arrives the wheel area says "Waiting for your WhatsApp message". A win is shown on the wheel and the winner message arrives in that same WhatsApp chat: "You won:" plus the prize, "How to claim:" with what happens next, and a promise that Spun confirms there within one business day. The prizes on offer are the ones written on the wheel and they change over time; the winner message states exactly what you won and how to claim it. Every prize won also gets a "You won" card in the inbox, which opens by itself once while the prize is unclaimed and comes back from "Your prize" in the menu. A prize that is a discount on your plan comes with your own prize code: the card shows the code with a Copy button, the discount, the date to use it by and an "Add card and claim" button that opens Plans with the code already filled in (where the app cannot take payments, the card asks you to open Spun on the web to claim it). Once it is claimed the card says the prize is active and shows the date of your first payment. Any other prize is fulfilled by a Spun person, never automatically, and bonus trial days never start or extend the trial by themselves. The card is web only (not shown in the iOS or Android apps), and the welcome and install-rescue emails carry one line pointing back to the web login where the card lives. A manager who logs in to the inbox on the web without ever having connected WhatsApp meets the wheel first: a popup with the still wheel on top, the consent box, "Spin the wheel" and "Spin later" under it, an X to close, "Maybe later", and "Connect WhatsApp instead", which opens the ordinary connect flow. Closing it hides it for that session and it comes back on the next login until WhatsApp is connected, or sooner from "Your saved spin" in the menu; when no onboarding wheel is available the connect flow opens by itself as before. The number you message from stays your personal number; it is never merged with the business line you connect. Right after the welcome email, every new signup also gets one "Bring your contact names into Spun" email: step-by-step instructions for exporting the phone's contacts as a CSV file (from contacts.google.com on Android, or with a paid export app on iPhone) and a link that opens the contacts import in the inbox, so chats show names instead of bare numbers.
How to use
- The onboarding checklist appears automatically for new accounts and tracks milestone progress.
- A spotlight product tour can also launch automatically on first use, highlighting real interface elements (message composer, AI options, menus, panels) with step-by-step tooltips you can move through, skip, or dismiss for later.
- Both the checklist and the tour can be reopened later from Settings or the Concierge Tips tab.
- Completing milestones and the tour unlocks rewards and the full inbox experience.
- If the spin-to-win card is shown during setup: tick the consent box, press "Spin the wheel", then the WhatsApp button (it opens WhatsApp with the message already written), send it, come back and press "I sent it, check now"; spin, read the prize, and reply in the same WhatsApp chat to claim it or to ask for help with the install.
- Not ready yet? Press "Spin later" and come back from "Your saved spin" in the menu before the saved date.
- Won a prize code? Open "Your prize" in the menu, copy the code or press "Add card and claim" to open Plans with the code filled in, and use it before the date shown on the card.
- Once your number is connected, the checklist also offers three workflow cards (a daily digest, a group monitor, a check-in reminder). Each takes three short steps and runs only after you press Activate; Skip hides them.
