Spun offers multiple plans:

WhatsApp Inbox Plans:

  1. Free Trial - try Spun with a generous AI token allowance; the current trial length is shown on the signup page and in Settings → Plans (the plan name there always carries the live duration). Note: the trial does NOT unlock all features - inbox sharing (Team Inbox) is disabled and translation rooms are capped to a small number of participants.
  2. Pro - the entry paid plan, and it already includes EVERY feature: AI chatbot, voice translation, coaching, CRM sync, knowledge base, file sync, transcription, PII redaction, Self Proxy, all extensions, and Team Inbox with both full and partial/scoped access (Viewer, Team Member, Manager roles).
  3. Max - the same complete feature set as Pro, in two sizes (Max 10x and Max 40x) for teams that need a larger monthly AI token allowance, more storage, and longer message history.

Every paid plan can do everything. Features are NOT tiered any more: there is no feature a Max plan unlocks that Pro lacks. The paid plans differ only in capacity - monthly AI tokens, storage, how far back message history is kept, and the price of adding extra WhatsApp numbers. When someone asks which plan they need, ask about their expected AI usage and history requirements, never about which features they want.

Team members are unlimited and free on every plan that includes Team Inbox - per-seat billing has been retired; there are no per-seat fees.

Spun Chat Free Tier: Use Spun Chats without WhatsApp - free messaging, free AI token allowance, and token packs available for purchase.

PERISHABLE FACTS RULE: exact prices, token amounts, retention periods, storage sizes, participant caps, and the plan names themselves change over time and are NOT listed here. For current numbers, direct users to the live plan comparison table (Settings → Plan & Usage) or spun.com/pricing, or use the billing/plan actions, and never state remembered figures.

Token meter (Plan & Usage): The Settings → Plan & Usage tab is visible to EVERY role, not just admins. It shows the current period's AI token usage with a reset countdown, included vs bonus vs promo tokens shown separately (bonus carries over, promo expires at reset), burn rate with a projected run-out date range (or an honest "not enough history yet" note), a by-feature usage breakdown with a Manage link per row into AI settings (labeled as estimates), a voice call-out when voice features drive a large share of usage, other lines of a parent account that are running low (with a switch-line shortcut), and a bar chart of recent periods. There is also a resting one-line meter in the account menu (the percentage used and the reset date) for all roles, and a small amber/red pill next to the org switcher that appears only when tokens run low. Purchase, coupon, plan-change, subscription and billing-history controls are admin-only; members see usage read-only. Guests working in a shared inbox (sharees) see only whether AI is active/low/paused for the line, never the owning org's balances or numbers. The native iOS and Android apps are payment-silent: the Plan & Usage tab, plan comparison, prices, upgrade prompts and coupons do not appear there at all (usage read-outs on the General tab, the account-menu meter line and the low-token pill remain); never point an iOS user to the web to buy or upgrade, and on Android only say in plain text that plans and billing are managed on the web.

Trial calibration: the trial doubles as a fit-measurement week. On the plan selection page and on the trial-ended prompt, admins see their measured trial burn (how many AI tokens and voice minutes they used across the trial), the pace projected to a month, and which plan's monthly inclusion covers it - the matching plan is marked "Recommended for you". When the trial was too thin to project from (only a few active days or very few AI actions), the recommendation carries an explicit "estimate based on limited trial use" label. Trial accounts are always offered a plan UPGRADE, never token top-up packs - packs are for paying customers.

Card before connecting (trial card gate): on the web, a new account is asked to add a card BEFORE its WhatsApp number can connect, from the connect screen itself. Nothing is charged when the card is added; the trial starts the moment the number connects, and the first charge comes only when the trial ends, for the plan and amount shown on that screen (the screen quotes the live plan price, trial length and any coupon - never repeat remembered figures). An account whose free trial was already used sees the same card step with a note that the subscription starts when it connects. The screen offers "Chat with us" (the concierge) or "Book a call" for anyone who wants to talk first. After the card is saved the user lands back on the connect screen ("Card saved. Connect your number to start your trial") and the QR appears; if the confirmation is slow there is a "Check again" button and a note to refresh. Cancelling on the card page simply returns to the same screen. The screen also has a small "Have an access code?" link: an access code handed out by Spun (for example to beta testers) lets the account connect WITHOUT saving a card and run a card-free trial instead, for the trial length attached to that code (the code only ever lengthens a trial, never shortens one). Typing the code and pressing Apply shows "Code accepted. Connect your number to start your trial" and the QR appears; a code that is unknown, expired, already used up or not meant for this step always answers the same "That access code is not valid." (support can check why in the audit log, the screen never says). A code arrives in a gate link as ?code=... and is applied automatically. Codes are entered on this screen only, never at signup, and only by a manager. In the native iOS and Android apps the same step only says "Finish connecting on the web at web.spun.com" - no plan cards, prices or card entry appear there, though the access code link is available on the native step too. Accounts that connected before the gate existed are not asked for a card. While a card is on file the top banner reads "Card saved, nothing charged. Connect to start your trial" before the number connects, then "N days left in your trial. First charge on {date}" (with the amount when known) during the trial with a Manage button into the billing portal; if a charge fails the banner turns red with "We could not charge your card." and an "Update payment method" button. Such accounts never see the trial-expired prompt or the hard block: a saved card, an active card trial, a paid subscription or a payment problem is never treated as an expired trial. Settings → Plan & Usage shows "Update card" and "Cancel subscription" for admins with a subscription; both open the same Stripe billing portal.

Additional features: First-time buyers can apply coupon codes for discounts and bonus tokens (admins only). All plans support token top-up packs for additional AI usage. The plan comparison table in Settings → Plan & Usage shows a detailed feature-by-feature breakdown. A Billing History section lists past invoices and payments (admins only).

To upgrade: Settings → Plan & Usage → click Upgrade (admins).

How to use

  1. Go to Settings → Plan & Usage (all roles can open it).
  2. View your current plan, token usage with reset countdown, burn rate and projection, and the by-feature breakdown; use a row's Manage link to adjust or turn off a costly feature.
  3. Admins: click "Upgrade" to see plan options and compare features in a detailed comparison table.
  4. Apply a coupon code for first-time discounts.
  5. Purchase token top-up packs if you run out of AI tokens.
  6. Manage payment methods and review past invoices in the Billing History section. (Not available in the native iOS or Android apps, which have no plan or purchase screens.)
