Automatically transcribes incoming voice messages to text so you can read them instead of listening. Can be enabled globally or per-chat. Supports showing transcriptions in a different language. If a transcript holds more words than the voice note could possibly contain, Spun treats it as a mistake and tries another speech engine. If every engine does the same, the transcript is still shown but marked as possibly inaccurate, with a suggestion to transcribe it again. If WhatsApp delivers the audio of a new voice note a few minutes late, Spun waits for it and transcribes the note once the audio arrives, instead of marking the transcription as failed.
How to use
- Open Chat Language & Voice Settings (globe icon) → Audio tab.
- Toggle "Auto-transcribe" on (globally or per-chat).
- Incoming voice messages will show a text transcription below the audio player.
- Set "Show transcription in" to see transcriptions in your preferred language.
