A slim strip at the top of the chat list on desktop titled Today's Briefing that counts what needs your attention right now, as small pills: Unanswered, Unread, Waiting, Alarms, Overdue (tasks), Stale and Failed. Only the pills with something in them show, and the whole strip disappears when there is nothing to report. Clicking Unanswered, Unread, Waiting, Stale or Failed switches the chat list to that filter so you can work through those chats; the Alarms and Overdue pills are counts only. The strip refreshes on its own as messages, alarms and waiting-on states change. Use the arrow at its left to collapse it to a single item count, and Spun remembers your choice. It is not shown on phones or narrow windows.
